2012 Christmas Shoe Box Giveaway

One of our favorite yearly events at Bethel Mission Outreach is the Christmas morning shoebox giveaway. In years past we have been able to give away shoeboxes to families and children in our church and local community. But this year the Lord opened the doors for us to distribute shoe boxes to two other orphanages and to children who live in a small town in southern Haiti. This year was a bit of an adventure when trying to distribute the gifts to the little village of  Mouillage Fouquet in southern Haiti. We had to pile shoeboxes on the backs of motorcycles just to get them across the damaged roadways (due to this past summer's hurricanes) leading into the village. But it was definitely well worth the challenge. It's always amazing to watch these children light up with smiles on their faces when we hand them their shoe boxes. It is even more special for us to introduce them to Jesus through the sharing of the gospel message. It is always our hope that the shoeboxes open up the door for these children to receive Christ as their Savior. After all, He is the greatest gift they will ever receive! By the end of the celebration around 700 children received shoe boxes and heard the gospel on Christmas day! Thank you so much to all of the churches, organizations, and individuals who helped pack and ship these shoe boxes! We praise the Lord for another successful Christmas shoebox giveaway! Please take time to look at the pictures below!
