Imagine Giving Someone a New House

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to give someone a new house? Meet Ms. Milleau and her family who are about to receive a new home from Bethel Mission Outreach. After the earthquake in 2010, 1.4 million Haitians were left homeless. For many of those affected the solution was to provide steady employment and short-term housing to help them get back on their feet. Bethel Mission Outreach did both of those things. We opened our mission base, set up tents, provided construction jobs, and supplied food and water to everyone in need.

However, certain families, such as the Milleau family (in the video above), needed more than short term help. Ms. Milleau and her three children are on their own. The father has abandoned the family and refuses to return. Ms. Milleau is forced to leave her kids at the mission base as she travels to town in order to find work. She barely has enough income to provide food for herself, much less her three children. During this difficult season we have fully provided for Ms. Milleau and her children. They have been active members in our church for the past year and her two oldest children are enrolled in our children's school. After seeing the extreme hardship of their situation we have decided to further help them by building them a new

home! As you can tell by the video, this is no small gift. For Ms. Milleau and her children a new house represents great hope for their future as a family. However, it is clear that for Ms. Milleau her relationship with Jesus Christ is far more precious than any external gift she might receive. She is fully aware that another earthquake could destroy her new home. Her hope has a foundation that no earthquake could ever destroy. This story is one among thousands.
